General Questions
Every project begins with a complimentary discovery call, where we learn more about your home, your goals, your timeline, and the scope of work. From there, we typically move into an in-home design consultation. For full-service projects, we then develop the concept, space plans, finishes, furnishings, and detailed design before moving into sourcing, procurement, trade coordination, installation, and final styling.
Our process is structured to keep decisions clear, thoughtful, and organized from the first idea through to the finished home.
We work with homeowners, families, couples, and busy professionals who value thoughtful design but may not have the time—or simply do not want—to manage every decision themselves.
Our clients typically want a designer they can trust to guide the process, simplify decisions, and create a home that feels personal, functional, and considered.
Every project is different, and timelines depend on the size of the home, scope of work, construction requirements, custom pieces, product lead times, and availability of trades.
As a general guideline, concept development typically takes 2-4weeks, with approximately one additional week for each round of revisions. Design development and documentation – including elevations, furniture and finishes, materials – 3-6 weeks. Procurement, construction and project implementation – 8-20 weeks or longer, depending on the scope of work, custom orders, lead times, trade schedules, and material availability. Installation and final styling – 1-5 days, depending on the size and complexity of the project
Design fees vary depending on the size, complexity, and scope of your project.
We offer several ways to work together, including in-home Design Consultations starting at $420, Full-Service Interior Design, and Full-Scale Styling. After learning more about your project, we will recommend the level of service that best suits your needs. For full-service interior design projects, a customized proposal is provided following the initial in-home design consultation.
Trillium Interiors is based in Vaughan, Ontario, and works with clients throughout Vaughan, Toronto, and the Greater Toronto Area.
For full-service interior design projects, we are also available for select projects outside the GTA and remotely. If you are unsure whether your location is within our service area, we encourage you to reach out.
Yes. Virtual consultations are available for select projects. We begin with a discovery call to learn more about your space and determine whether working virtually is the right fit for your project.
A Design Consultation is a focused, two-hour session designed to give you professional guidance on your space, layout, finishes, colours, furniture, lighting, or other specific design decisions. It is ideal if you plan to manage the project yourself but want expert direction.
Full-Service Interior Design is a much more comprehensive experience. From concept and space planning to sourcing, procurement, trade coordination, installation, and final styling, we manage the process from start to finish. Think of it as a white-glove service designed to take pressure off you-handling and planning, coordination, and communication while keeping you involved int he decisions that matter the most.
Yes. Trillium Interiors works on renovations, reimagined existing homes, and select custom new builds.
Ideally, we become involved early in the process so that important decisions regarding layouts, lighting, millwork, finishes, materials, and furnishings can be considered together rather than independently.
The earlier, the better.
Bringing an interior designer into the project before construction begins allows us to think through space planning, lighting, electrical placement, millwork, finishes, furniture layouts, and other details before they become expensive or difficult to change.
Thoughtful planning at the beginning often prevents costly compromises later.
Yes. Collaboration is an important part of our full-service design process.
We work closely with contractors, builders, architects, millworkers, electricians, and other trades to help ensure that the design is clearly communicated and carried through as intended.
We can also introduce trusted trades and suppliers when appropriate for the project.
Absolutely. Your home is your story!
A well-designed home does not have to begin from scratch. If you have furniture, artwork, heirlooms, or meaningful pieces that you love, we can consider them as part of the overall design and build the space around what is worth keeping.
The goal is for your home to feel like yours—not like a showroom.
Yes. Depending on the service you choose, we can source everything from furniture, rugs, lighting, and window treatments to artwork, accessories, and custom pieces.
For full-service projects, we also coordinate ordering, tracking, delivery, installation, and final styling so that all of the elements come together as one cohesive home.
We primarily focus on projects where we can create a cohesive design and make a meaningful impact on the way the home functions and feels.
That may mean an entire home, a renovation, or several connected spaces. For clients who need guidance on a smaller area or individual design decisions, a Design Consultation may be the better fit. Select single room projects-such as kitchens, bathrooms, or spaces involving custom millwork – may be considered. We do not design around a single prescribed style or short-lived trend.

Yes, but having a realistic budget from the beginning is important.
We discuss investment early so that the design direction, materials, furnishings, custom work, and overall scope align with what you are comfortable spending. Our role is not simply to find things that fit a number, but to help you understand where it is worth investing and where there may be opportunities to simplify.
For our full-service projects, yes. Procurement can include sourcing, purchasing, order management, tracking, delivery coordination, and installation.
Managing these details as part of one process helps us maintain the integrity of the overall design and gives our clients a much more streamlined experience
